I am a cognitive and computational neuroscientist studying how cognitive focus implements selective neural encoding, both in attention and in the evaluation of potential actions or outcomes, to shape reward-guided behavior. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Computational and Mathematical Neuroscience at the Centre de Recerca Matematica (CRM) in the lab of Prof. Klaus Wimmer. Previously, I conducted research as Postdoctoral research in the group of Theoretical and Cognitive Neuroscience (TCN) at the Center for Brain and Computation (CBC) within the Department of Engineering at the University Pompeu Fabra (UPF), in Barcelona. During my Postdoctoral work, I carried out research projects in collaboration with Prof. Hayden at the Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, TX, USA and Prof. Yang at the NYU-ECNU in Shanghai, China.
I obtained my PhD at the Center for Mind/Brain Cognition in Rovereto, Italy, supervised by Prof. Panzeri, expert in Information theoretical models of neural computation, in collaboration with Prof. Thiele from the University of Newcastle, UK, expert in the neurophysiology of visual attention.
My aim is to extend my current research frames to integrate cognitive control functions in perception and action by combining experimental and theoretical investigation, contributing to the field of neuroscience and with great potential for real-life clinical applications.
